ARTIST'S BIO
Julia Mooney is a painter working in Medford, New Jersey. Julia taught art history for many
years, having earned her BFA at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her passion for
art history consistently informs her paintings. Beyond painting, creativity has found its way
into her life in many forms. In 2018 she committed to wearing the same dress to work for 100
days, making international headlines and bringing attention to issues surrounding fast
fashion, the environment, and female empowerment. Outside of being an artist, she owns a fair trade gift shop and is passionate about partnering with makers like herself to bring their work to market. Her experiences as a world traveler, teacher and working mother regularly inspire her work, subtly showcasing a range of moments, emotions, and scenery
that define our contemporary lives.
